Recently Eileen and I were stopped at a light.  She said, “Look at that.”  She was photographing the truck in front us which gave the name of the business,” Tree Ya Later.”

I thought that anyone who would name their business using a pun deserves attention by us.

In view of our threatening letter from Neptune Township which demanded that we deal immediately with “vegetation” obstructing sidewalks on two sides of our house, we called “Tree Ya Later” and asked if they would rescue us.   The founder of the company, “Joe” came down the next day to look at the situation. We knew that we would need an artist to fix our holly tree, and there were the in-bloom hydrangeas–mainly the one on Delaware Avenue with those magnificent white flowers.

Joe took one look at the tree and suggested a creative solution where the holly would be turned into a tree with visible trunks.  It would require great skill so as not to  kill the tree while making it into an arborist’s  masterpiece.   We hired him, and he graciously offered to do the work in the next 1 or 2 days.

He returned on Thursday August 14, 2015 with a truck and a helper–Jose.

Job finished with great skill and care. Sidewalks are clear, so come by and see it.

Joe did the work himself mostly using hand pruners and hand  saws.  Jose helped him keep the work site clean and safe. All the cuttings went into the truck.   He was meticulous taking great care regarding where  he made his cuts.  He carefully inspected each step of the way, stepping back to study the shaping and explaining to Eileen and me  about what issues he would face as he turned the holly into an  arborist’s  beauty.  (see photos.).  The job was exhausting in the heat, but they took no breaks.

Besides the tree he applied the same creativity  and care to Eileen’s giant hydrangea on Delaware Ave.

He made sure that passersby could easily walk by. The tree bottom was raised over six feet.  The tree would take some close monitoring  in the future, but for now the top would be left alone.

When he was done, all 4 of us stood back in the street and admired the job.   And we thanked Joe and Jose over and over.   Too bad they don’t do plumbing, carpentry or electrical.

Write down the name of these tree mavens from “Tree Ya Later” ;  they are hard workers, doing 4 or 5 jobs each day, and they will welcome more.
