A farm on Bath Avenue uses potted plants near the Ocean to help with dinner.

July 26, 2025 by Blogfinger

The Wanamaker family  has lived in their Bath Avenue house for generations.   In those pots are herbs, spices, tomatoes, and vegetables for their own use.  Click once to enlarge.

About 20 years ago a Grover, Mr. Handford,  at Heck and Ocean, who had a large property, kept up a crop of edibles.  Also Jack Green, the realtor, has also had a similar farm–I think at Heck as well.

The Wanamaker’s have done something a bit different, placing many of their farming plants in pots.

Grovers tend to maintain flower gardens. Some do harvest small edible  plants such as Eileen Goldfinger’s parsley, basil, and onions.
