What is the point of all these questions ? After reading this comment, I want to jump off the pier!
OG now has a beautiful beach, with plenty of sand for everyone. Once the pier is completed- all will be beautiful.
Bythesea– you should go by the sea and just enjoy it– it’s yours for the taking.
Judging from the photo’s you provided, as well as some I found on the internet, it looks like the sand is about 2-3 feet higher at the equivalent point (that would be the point right before the pier widens, than it was in the earlier 2000’s.)
dI cannot comment with the same confidence as to how far the beach goes out into the ocean (given it is hard to judge with the tide and all), but would say that sand level at water’s edge looks about the same as it did in the earlier 2000’s.
Thus, this unscientific analysis suggests that the beach is higher than it was about 10 years ago in terms of elevation above the water line moving back towards the boardwalk, but that the elevation then drops from where the pier widens so that the tide comes in to about the same point it did 10 years ago. All in all, it would generally appear as though we are about back to where we were 10 years ago.
Related question: what’s up with the GIANT, long pile of sand midway between the boardwalk and the water in Asbury Park. Why didn’t OG get a enormous extra pile of sand like they did?
Moe or Paul, so you have an old picture to compare to? Maybe from 5+ years ago? An adult used to be able to walk under the pier at low tide between the second and third pilings that were on dry ground. Just curious how well they replaced the missing sand.

Ocean Grove: a really cute small town at the Jersey Shore.
