Modern OG history—2016: “Soon it’s gonna rain…..”

March 9, 2025 by Blogfinger

By  Prosper Bellizia:  “With thunder in the distant south and the threat of lightening, life guards ordered the ocean and the beach vacated at 2:45 pm on Saturday 7-16-16.”    Blogfinger staff.

For a second I thought it was my people making a hurried  exit from Egypt:  “Quick  Ma, grab the bagels and cream cheese”

Heard a couple of beach goers in Pt Pleasant were struck by lightning moments before the Ocean Grove beach evacuation.

I was swimming with my spouse in the OG Ocean Saturday when I saw lightning, and we quickly got out of the water, packed up, and pedaled home as fast as we could, while just missing the storm.

Editor’s note: Two women were hit in Pt. Pleasant in separate incidences. They were not hurt. —PG
