Neptune Township defaults to the CMA and the Chamber of Commercials when it comes to activities for the OG public. They allow all sorts of useless events in the Grove such as a Giant Flea Market and they allow our streets to close for useless events, but where are they in organizing and scheduling events specifically for the residents of the Grove?
I think that those Neptune employees who work on events such as those seen above never think of the Grove. They think that Ocean Grove is well taken care of by the CMA and the CC, but who decided on those priorities? The flier above says that is from “Neptune Recreation,” but where is “Ocean Grove Recreation?” And Neptune has a sign on Rt. 33 which says that we are the town’s “Historic District.” But they don’t give a damn about celebrating our history. Neptune is now celebrating Black History Month, but how about OG History Month?
And Neptune would allow the CMA to selectively pay attention to the Master Plan such as ignoring the suggestion of only single family homes in the “Historic District’ which is being compromised by more multi-family homes to be built at the North End.
How can we ever develop programs that celebrate our history, music, the arts, July 4 parade on July 4, open beaches on Sunday, and our town itself—-ie as in other small town programs that help create character and pride for We-The People in “Small Town America.” Some of you may have grown up in such towns. I did, in Rutherford.

OG town-wide yard sale created by OG residents with no help from the CMA or the Township. CMA refused to include us in their summer “Ocean Grove” program guide.
