b. There will be a Planning Board hearing at 7 pm on Wednesday, Feb 26, 2025 at the Mother Ship. Lawyers for OGNED are seeking final site plan approval to develop the North End. We got a letter from Ansell Law about this session. This has been going on for 18 years, so I won’t be going.
The last time I witnessed attorney Jennifer Krimko in action was when she shut down the HPC from speaking at a hearing regarding the North End. We reported on that grotesque outrageous denial of free speech in the Committee room. Even the HPC lawyer could not speak.
The Neptune Planning Board can be expected to approve this “Site Plan.” The letter says that the “amended Ocean Grove North End Redevelopment Plan would have to be approved by February 26, 2025.”
In case you don’t recall, the plan includes: 10 single family 3-bedroom homes; a 40 room, 5 story hotel; 36 2 bedroom and 3 3 bedroom condominiums for a total of 39 residential condominium dwelling units in 3-story and 4-story buildings; first floor retail units of about 7,000 square feet facing the Boardwalk promenade; a subsurface parking garage; surface parking; and related site improvements.
c. A visitor to the Grove:
Harold is my first cousin. His Dad was one of my Mom’s brothers. The family was from Bayonne. Harold was an infantryman in Viet Nam. He saw action there. I remember when the family gathered at the Boulevard home to welcome Harold back. He followed the last generation of our Bayonne military family who survived WWII.
He retired from a long career as a draftsman for AT&T, working on transoceanic cables. Harold is a bachelor. He just got himself a new car. We hadn’t seen him for a long while, but being with him again made us all very happy, and he got to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving meal made for us by Eileen. They say that “blood is thicker than water,” and that’s true.
