Paul and Eileen Goldfinger, Editors, Blogfinger.net. 8/20/24.
It was a cloudy afternoon, but there were visitors from out of town enjoying the sights, shopping and alfresco treats. A couple asked me how to get to the “little houses.”
Eileen and I met some locals who wanted to talk about the North End, Nagle’s, Blogfinger’s “Girls in Their Summer Clothes,” the pier, and the Camp Meeting Association. This is truly a walking town with a porch culture.
We checked out the future location of Odyssey Coffee on the other side of the street where the owner has found a significantly larger location, the site of the Emporium clothing store and, before that a bank.
We understand that there will be more food on the menu, more seating in and out, and some special events which the owner will announce. Supposedly the opening is planned for this autumn. This sounds like a wonderful addition to Main Avenue.
A planned sandwich shop is in progress for the Wall Street alleyway, but there have been some hangups.
The Nagle’s situation is still a dream in progress, but perhaps the new coffee emporium will fill some of that gaping gap.
We wonder if somebody is thinking about a public bathroom for our downtown.
