This film won the Best Picture Academy Award 1979  along with 7 other Oscars.  It is based on Joseph Conrad’s book  The Heart of Darkness. Coppola had no script; just a copy of Conrad’s amazing book. It takes place during the Viet Nam War.

In the scene on top, the Americans, on a boat mission up river,  get to stop at an old French plantation where a French family still resides and where Captain Willard gets some satisfaction.

Below that is the “hell-on-earth” command of Col. Kurtz–played by Marlon Brando. It is in Cambodia and is the weirdest place you have ever seen.
