OceanGrove hydrangeas. By Eileen Goldfinger.6/16/24

This is the time of year when OG hydrangeas show their best colors. Eileen has them along the Delaware Avenue side of our house at the corner with Mt. Hermon Way. She was out watering as the sun was beginning to set at about 8:30 pm. Then she noticed that the flowers were glowing. She took some images with her iPhone. Here is the result as we moved her photo from reality to the phone’s color sensor to my computer photo software.
But we were unable to reproduce the glow which we saw. This is as close as we got. So photography has many variables which can influence the final result such as how your computer screen is set, how your camera’s sensor is performing, and there is the light on your subject. Then when you send your image to your camera roll it may look different, and other variables can be at play.
That’s why it’s good to try different settings on your camera, and don’t forget to study the light.
