Giant Craft Show: Another beautiful summer Saturday consumed by tourism and of no value to the tax paying residents of Ocean Grove. 6/15/24 Paul Goldfinger photos for Blogfinger.net

Not everyone wants to flounder around among the shuffling crowds attracted to the “crafts.” This is Auditorium Square Park. Did you ever wonder why this park is so beautifully kept compared to other parks in town? Paul Goldfinger photo.
I know I sound like a broken record, but OG should only allow small-town, culturally- rich events here. And if they should have a craft show, it should be held in one of our parks and should be juried to bring only the best crafted works.
We need our summer Saturdays brought back the way other shore towns have done. The parking today was horrendous. And for those of us who live here, these giant events have a major impact on our quality of life, and who gets the money and what do We-the People get out of it?
This is what the Home Groaners say on their web site:
“The mission of the OGHOA is to protect and enhance property values and the quality of life in Ocean Grove. To that end, the Association provides a gathering place and forum for members and interested residents to discuss and exchange information and ideas about issues of concern to Ocean Grove homeowners.”
In another words, all talk and no action!
