Here are some quotes from today’s   (5/21/24) The NY Times selection of all the news fit to print.   What do you think of these quotes?

By Paul Goldfinger, Editor Blogfinger.net

” The Camp Meeting Association is ‘ conservative Christian nonprofit that controls a section of the Jersey Shore.'”

….”religiously motivated restrictions imposed by the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, which owns the property.”

“..A status conference, in which attorneys will meet to discuss the case, has been scheduled for Sept. 4, two days after Labor Day, when peak beach season is over.”

“Many Ocean Grove business owners are disappointed, she said, because when the beach was closed on Sunday mornings, people would go downtown and shop.

Again Grover Shane Martins finds himself interviewed in a story about OG.    He even  told the reporter what bathing suit he will wear next Sunday.  Of course we know him as a founder of Neptune United, and he will once again take the side of opening the beach.

“I’m hopeful this will allow us to move forward,” he said.

So Shane, how does “this” allow us to move forward?”  Why don’t  you explain your vision for Ocean Grove?   Do you think that this might be a backward move for some Grover residents?

Why didn’t the Times reporter do a bit of investigative reporting instead of reducing our story into a caricature?
