Sandy was well on its way on October 28, 2012,  but some shore areas were talking evacuation as early as Oct. 26.   At the OG beachfront on October 28, the curious showed up to look at the  ocean, but they could not appreciate the force of the storm which would hit the Jersey Shore early the next morning, October 29, 2012.

Internet:   “On October 29, 2012 Sandy made landfall in New Jersey near Brigantine, and was accompanied by heavy rains, 80 mph sustained winds and a record-breaking storm surge that coincided with a high tide and a full moon.”

A lone photographer was down by the surf.

I”ve wondered the same thing. Imagine,,….Southside Johnny in the Great Auditorium.

Why Shore legend Southside Johnny and judging by his recent year long tour, global music star AND hometown boy (I believe he still has a house in The Grove on the Southside!) isn’t a fixture in the Auditorium on some Summer Saturday night is beyond me. Better yet, headlining a rebuilding benefit concert. He does benefits all the time! Imagine the guest artist list he can call on! Sure he has some party songs with the Jukes but he also tours with the Lost Souls. I would think he could tailor the show for the venue. Maybe not, who knows? But has anyone ever asked him?
