Obtained from OGHOA Facebook page:
“The ordinance for adopting the amended redevelopment plan for the Ocean Grove’s north end was passed tonight (4/08/24) at the Neptune Township meeting by a 3-2 vote.
“Voting for passing the plan was Keith Cafferty, Robert Lane and Kevin McMillan.
“Voting against the plan was Mayor York and Derel Stroud.
“The room was packed, and OG residents were quite vocal against passing the plan.
“Also at the meeting, Neptune Township Committee voted 5-0 to table ordinance 24-16 Property Maintenance (pertaining to short term rentals.) This topic is causing considerable consternation among those in town who are landlords.”
Blogfinger: The link above contains the wording of the short term rental ordinance. (Property maintenance .)
It looks like the HOA will be communicating mostly via Facebook instead of their web site. For those of you who don’t get Facebook, like me, we will have to search for information.
Another Facebook site includes a comment by a home owner who says, “Neptune will also be discussing new rules pertaining to short term rentals which they define as any rental agreement 30 days or less. This includes introducing introducing new regulations, fees ($500 for additional permitting,) and even potential jail time for non-compliance. This would affect folks who do weekly rentals as well as shorter term stays in town.”
