Barbra Streisand played the original Funny Girl Fanny Brice in the movie. The song is “I’d Rather Be Blue Over You.”
In 1921, Fanny Brice starred in the Ziegfeld Follies and recorded this song: “Second Hand Rose”. Notice her Yiddish accent, but that was an affectation. Her parents were immigrants, but Fanny was born in NYC.
