This would prevent game-playing, ie saving spaces through creative parking tricks; or sloppy parking that wastes spaces. Asbury Park also uses marked parking spaces.a

Thanks Rich. I recall in the past when this idea was suggested for OG that it was dismissed for causing a loss of spaces, as you said. But there are so many games that people currently play in the Grove, that they too cause loss of spaces.
At least this system might eliminate some of the parking chaos and add an element of orderliness.
I would like to hear what some current Grovers think about this idea. –Paul
I take it that you are referring to the delineation lines shown to indicate the parking spots. In the case of the added lines painted in front of our house on 3rd Ave in BB there are now three fewer parking spots available than before the lines were put in. Fact, this delineated parking method reduces parking spots. Note, as we have ample off-street parking on our property this reduction in parking spots does not affect us at all.
Interestingly, when the person was here marking off where the painted lines were to go the resulting parking spots were very small dictated by the corner setback requirements and curb cuts. Across the street from us is a park therefore lacking curb cuts and there the parking spots are enormous. When I asked the person doing the marking of the spots why he told me as he frequents a local business and as he has a pickup truck he wanted be sure that he had a large enough spot to park.
