If you haven’t, you should. There are many new businesses and restaurants to discover like Dolce Fantasia, 521 Cookman, across from Toast. It is Northern Italian and supposedly has pasta to die for. We will review that soon.
Toast is excellent, open for breakfast and lunch–we like their BLT’s. Try Black Swan for their specialty Shepherd Pie.
And also there’s the seafood restaurant Bonney Read. They’re pricey, but very good. Try the fish and chips/onion rings.
You can skip the Bierhalle for food.
Take the advice of Asbury parkers: Park in Ocean Grove and walk across Wesley Lake. If you go straight you will be seated directly at the Black Swan. But don’t do the bar scene there, even with the 50% off alcoholic “happy hour” because the noise is unbearable. They have other rooms.
RONALD NALDI: An Italian singer and an Italian song to welcome the Dolce Fantasia. We’ want to dedicate a song to the chef, from New York, who took a chance and came to Jersey. Judging from the reviews so far, go soon before he changes his mind. We will.
I agree with your review, especially the Black Swan being way too loud. A pub should have a nice murmur of conversation, but it is an echo chamber. Their Shepard’s Pie is very good though!!!
