Blogfinger has learned that the Stone Pony may be moving into a major music venue planned for in or near the Casino. There would be thousands of seats, and the project will create a challenge for construction design, lifestyles in the region, and congestion near the Grove. This may only be conceptual at this time, but reality is said to be close—we have no specifics, but you can imagine the ramifications for the North End Redevelopment Plan on the OG side, which is still on hold.
Neptune Township should reconsider their ill conceived Zone in Need of Redevelopment at our North End. Anything done on the Asbury side will have ramifications for the Grove and its citizens.

I have to credit the Coaster. They reported today that the Asbury governance has no interest now in developing the Stone Pony 5000 seat project near the Casino.
They have offered tax advantages to the developers for bringing back their north end—the theater and the convention center.
But as Dave Fox says, “The OG North End saga will continue,” and even if this AP Casino big deal will not occur soon, Neptune had better take that into consideration when they blindly go ahead and allow that North End disaster to occur in the Grove. It’s time Neptune considers the needs of the majority secular residential community in OG. But after the parking permit rejection, I don’t know if we can expect anything from that Neptuner crowd.
Bring back the original plan of historic reproductions of single family homes. It could be a beautiful and manageable neighborhood. Paul Goldfinger, MD. Blogfinger.net
Imagine when A P moves ahead with this plan, and they will, the absolute parking nightmare O G’s Northender’s will have to endure without permit parking. It’s bad enough as it is now, during the season. Thousands of concert goers looking for ‘free parking’! OG has had well over 30 years to come up with a sensible plan for the North end and done nothing!
