a. The new pier “will be open and accessible to the public on Saturday, April 15, following the ribbon cutting at 12 noon. All are invited and welcome to attend, rain or shine.”
But where are the regulations written? The only mention on their site is that the “fish are coming” but they mean the donated fish shaped dedication tiles. We don’t even know if fishing is allowed on the pier since it is not known as the “OG Fishing Pier” which was its historic name. Instead the CMA refers to it as the “Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association Pier.”
Once again they have it both ways. Is it not a public thoroughfare? Is it tax exempt?
b. Cautious sushi shopping:
It was our opinion that Wegmans will leave no sushi over until the next day, however note this package which was packed on March 12, but sold on March 13. They think it’s safe, but the facts are shown on the label. Note also that although they have a spectacular daily fresh fish display under piles of fresh ice, they will sell their fish the next day, so ask how fresh your fish purchase is. Sometimes a shipment arrives late and is quite fresh the next morning but….be informed. PS. I was going to buy the above, but when I questioned them, they gave me one with today’s pack date instead.
c. From the OceanGrove.org CMA site it says, “Because of supporters like you, we will continue to be the seaside community where all generations can know and grow in Jesus.”
But once again we ask: ” What do you mean by ‘seaside community’?” Is this more double talk?
d. HOA meeting is a “must attend” regarding beach issues including Public Trust Doctrine, free beaches, and related matters.
e. We spotted these windows at St. Andrews Church in Spring Lake on a day when they were closed. What is the meaning? I have a theory, but what do you think?
