We met Grover John Goslee while he was cleaning up near the Great Auditorium after the storm. He was raking the neighbors’ properties on Mt. Zion Way.
One of his jobs is to take care of some homes for people who are away. While he was checking their houses, he emptied their refrigerators and freezers. The food was destined to spoil due to the power outage.
So John took the food to a fire house in town, and the firemen cooked it up for people who didn’t have food.

PAUL DESMOND. “Autumn Leaves.”
No damage inside. There was important roof damage, and there was concern about the historic Hope-Jones organ, but it wasn’t harmed. The CMA is currently working to cover the roof openings and create a temporary protection until the final repairs can be done. The tent colony is fine. At this time it consists of permanent structures made of wood. I know of no damage there.
Paul, did Sandy do any damage inside of the Auditorium or to the tent colony?
John Goslee is a great worker and we are fortunate to have him taking care of our house.
