With a spreading
of white wings
along the shoreline,
a flock of gulls
leaps in unison
toward the sky
to turn and glide
in a wide circle
drifting seaward.

Charles Pierre is a published New York poet who has appeared many times on Blogfinger. This beautiful poem, “Dancers,” is from his collection Coastal Moments.
Charles loves the shore and he visits Ocean Grove regularly.
About his work, poet George Held has said, “With precise diction, perfect pitch, and mastery of form, Charles Pierre lets us taste the sea’s salt, feel the sharp bite of winter’s offshore wind, hear the gull’s cry, and learn the lessons that close attention of the nautical world has taught him.”
Professor George Held, a poet on Blogfinger, goes on to say that “Charle’s work will provide enduring pleasure for readers hungry for a contemporary Robert Frost.”
