According to their website: “Founded in 2019 by Shannon Phillips, “e. holland sundries” is a small bakery operating in various farmers and craft markets at the Jersey Shore.”
This shop is mostly a bakery, but other items they carry explain the term “sundries.”
All the goods sold in this spotless bakery are made in the store (with one exception–the sourdough bread) with fresh ingredients, and the quality is superb. We highly recommend that you visit the shop.
We were first drawn to “e. holland” because of their magnificent sourdough breads which are made in Little Silver. The bread bakers are Grovers*: James and Erin who brought us one of their breads, and we were blown away.
It was the best bread we have ever eaten. The crust is dark and deliciously crunchy The interior has air holes, which make it chewy and light. The bread comes with or without seeds; we tried the “country loaf,” and they also have a semolina and a cinnamon raisin version. It is so good with butter and/or jam. Call first regarding bread availability.

We sampled some of their baked goods—all terrific. We especially liked, besides the bread, the brownies and pretzels. Blogfinger photo 6/3/22.They also cater, and they will make platters for brunches and luncheons where the items are miniatures. They also bake cakes to order.
In addition to baked goods they have a display of hand-made pottery mugs and small bowls. And they feature something quite unusual for a bakery: fresh flower bouquets.
They are currently closed on Monday and Tuesday.
If you head south on Main Street, the e. holland sundries are on the block just before Vic’s.
Our only complaint was that they had pieces of salt on the surface of their croissants and that is a problem. In addition the croissant should be more light and flaky, like the French versions which we had in Paris.
We recommend that you go over there and try some of their bakery items. They also serve their own ice cream in the summer and they have hot coffee.
They are open from Wednesday to Sunday, 8 am-3 pm
