This is gorgeous. Every note Miles plays is meaningful. The high note that ends his opening solo, that leads into Coltrane’s entrance, used to thrill me when I first heard it as a teenager. It still does. The Quintet is Miles, Coltrane, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb. I can’t remember the name of the album.
