The oldest church in Paris is in the Latin Quarter on the Left Bank; it is the church of St-Germaine-des-Pres. The area is a commercial district and is very busy. They have a playground in the front.
But in the back, near a place where a Benedictine abbey once stood, is a small quiet park where one can escape the hustle- bustle and find respite. This photograph shows that comforting space.
Then after a rest, a visitor can enter the church or find some fine little bistro where you can enjoy a simple but exquisite meal. These bistros are often mom and pop sorts of places where there might be only a few items available that day, but you can’t go wrong.
