The 92nd St Y is a wonderful cultural treasure in New York City on the Upper East Side. We used to go to their “Lyrics and Lyricists” series each summer when we were in New York.
In 2010 they had a festive concert to celebrate the 85th birthday of Bucky Pizzarelli, the famous guitarist. The performance featured members of his family including the host John, bass brother Martin, daughter in law Jessica Molaskey and an all star cast of musicians.
Lee Morgan of Ocean Grove alerted us that the Y would stream the concert on April 12., 2010. The concert was wonderful with great music and fun. At the end, everyone sang happy birthday, and here is the video.
Bucky Pizzarelli recently passed away (4/1/2020) at age 92, and we posted a piece about when he performed in Asbury Park a few years ago. (below)
