We’re not making a study of this issue, but having strolled and driven in the neighborhood recently, it appears that the usual vibrant life style of Tent Village is conspicuously subdued. This is because tent renters are closely situated, and there is the concern about the coronavirus. There were some who felt that the Tent experience should have been canceled this year.
But, hopefully that unique historic environment will be restored in 2021.
For those who are unfamiliar with the Tent Village, it is more than a historical symbol of a 19th century Jersey Shore town, but it is also a religious community, owned by the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association whose founders first prayed in tents near Wesley Lake.
