Each year the annual May New Jersey Law Enforcement Memorial Service is held in the Great Auditorium of Ocean Grove.
Every year there are police casualties, and this May event is attended by officers from all over New Jersey along with high ranking officials and a large number of bagpipers that stretch out around the perimeter of the GA. The officers bring police dogs and horses, and everyone is in uniform.
This year the event could not be held, but those who lost their lives in the line of duty are still remembered. Sometimes people forget this side of the equation.
