This is from the HOA; it may be the most admirable thing they have ever done, but it is a ripoff of the Asbury slogan.
a. The OG Home Groaners have been missing in action through this lockdown period. Surely they could have found a few things to do on behalf of Grover residents such as investigating how many of us are infected or died. They could have taken an interest in how distancing is working out in the Grove and what is being done about it.
For those HOA members who read BF, please tell us of a single “out of the box” important contribution which the Groaners have made to the life of our town in the last 5 years.
We will only list them if they are truly Blogworthy. Please: no spin or fake news or propaganda.
The most recent contribution which the Groaners have made is in their last two emails when they offer advise to stave off the virus :
“Wash your hands, drink plenty of water, wear your mask and be kind to one another.”
And the best news from the most useless public service organization in the state is that they have cancelled their next meeting.
b. We heard from a Grover who says: “I take long walks on the streets of OG, but always with a mask and mask cover. Always breezy to very windy here and I’ve witnessed numerous walkers and joggers coughing up a lung into the wind and not even bothering to cover their mouths!
“So I run to the other side of the street and literally hide behind cars. But there are some smart ones who are being careful.”
c. BF stats: On April 20 we had 1.083 hits. The most popular topics are: mob on the board, why isn’t the boardwalk closed, and OG lifestyles. We had 11 foreign countries including Germany, Norway and Australia. Our total hits count over 11 years is approaching 4 million.
d. Memorial Day parade cancelled. Announced by Neptune Township.
e. NJ Spotlight: 4/21/20
- New Jersey reported its highest daily COVID-19 toll to date with 379 fatalities, bringing the state total of deaths to 4,753.
- With 3,643 new confirmed cases, New Jersey has seen a total of 92,387 total positive cases, the second highest total in the country and more than the totals in each of China and Iran.
f. The Home Groaners say that if you see a distancing violation at the beach or boardwalk you should call the police. They also say that the CMA owns the beach and the boardwalk. But what have they actually done to protect our citizens from the pandemic?
g. County backpedals today on testing. We received a tip this afternoon that Coronavirus testing will be done in Monmouth County on demand even without a doctors order and even without symptoms.
But that announcement from the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office was premature, and the Governor said “no.” He is waiting for approval at the Federal level.
