3/9 This was the last full meeting. After this the meetings will be abbreviated. WHEREAS, the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association has two community events scheduled this Summer in the vicinity of the Auditorium that require temporary no parking restrictions and a street closure for pedestrian safety;
—–Permission is hereby granted to conduct the annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25, 2020. Mark your calendars. Will the lockdowns be over by then?
——Permission is hereby granted for Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association to hold their annual Independence Day Parade on Saturday, July 4, 2020. Why doesn’t Neptune Township pay to augment the July 4 parade? That event could use some full marching bands, not a combo on a truck. Many people from Neptune come on July 4.
3/18 The Township is building surplus in anticipation of issuing long term debt in the near future and the need to offset any spike in the tax rate. In addition, should the current situation with the COVID-19 virus impact property values, the Township will be in a position to avoid tax rate spikes due to valuation decreases.
c Asbury Park will be building a $15 million, 500 space, parking garage on Main Street within the Municipal Complex. It will be pay to park and construction will probably begin after the summer.
