Yogi Berra said, “When you come to a fork in the road, take it!”…and we have.
Blogfinger set out to be an information-sharing blog. But it didn’t work out that way. Ocean Grove was only part of our mission, but we have spent a tremendous amount of time on this town’s most aggravating issues.
We have often been critical of how the Town is evolving and who the players are who drive the bus. Some think that we are too critical, but all the positives that we report on far outweigh the negatives. The criticisms have been in the spirit of making this evolving town better.
Those people who come under our microscope almost never engage in responses to our opinions. And that includes those who should be supportive, including elected officials, Home Groaners, Chamber of Commercials, and residents.
We have reported on important local topics and we have stuck our necks out far, but we have no allies who routinely step up in vocal support.
So we have had enough. Now that the North End Plan is sailing through with hardly any citizens showing up at the session, we will no longer be reporting on that subject or any political or controversial topics, unless it is something that really interests us. So the door is not closed completely, but the process will be toned down considerably.
Keep watching us for music, photography, human interest stories, art, poetry, and Town lifestyles. If a giant pizza drops on us from outer space, we probably will report on and photograph that story.
We hope to hit that 4 million mark (visits since our inception) sometime in the near future. We welcome contacts by our readers.
Sincerely, Paul Goldfinger (Complainer-In-Chief) and Jack Bredin, (Chief Kvetcher and Tummler.)
DON JULIAN AND THE MEADOWLARKS:
Paul. Would hate to see you stop reporting on issues important to our town. I am not a full time resident just yet and I count on Blogfinger to keep me updated . Please reconsider.
Kevin. Will you do the same?
Tom. Thanks for your offer of healthy skepticism. Now I have time to photograph your purple barn.
And, can you please help me find my keys?—-Paul
Oh Blogfinger – you go through this phase every 2 to 3 years and it never last too long. Journalism/trouble-making seems to be in your blood. But we want you to be happy so good luck this time around. Ill enjoy your blog either way.
The Asbury Press has failed us, the Coaster has failed us, and because of this, many people have turned to your blog.
Though you may feel discouraged about the number of people responding, you should take pride in shinning light on the severe corruption that is going on with the township committee, it’s attorneys and experts.
At a time when the public is truly in the need of your blog reporting on these serious issues dealing with the North End, now is not the time to give up or give in.

Not sure I understand why you are choosing this course. While I often don’t agree with your point of view it’s your blog. I read it, I enjoy considering it, and I would miss it. You and Jack care! That’s a good thing! Please carry on as you have.
People might start ‘paying attention’ when heavy equipment and trucks start rolling down Ocean and the pile drivers start banging all day, every day.
