Asburians should put their spiritual healer Madame Marie on the case. They have nothing else in their quiver. Or maybe they should hire a lawyer. Neptune’s lawyers can beat back any assault by the whiners from A. Park. Paul Goldfinger photograph 2015 AP Boardwalk.©

All police officers, members of the governing body, planning board and board of adjustment take an oath of office to “faithfully” uphold the local, county, state and federal laws.
The word “faithfully” was added to the oath of office by President James Madison to remind all public officials that all laws apply to everyone equally, and not on an ad-hoc basis.
There are two separate legal issues regarding locking the gates: safety and parking.
——— a. The Neptune Governing Body and their Police Dept. acted properly to protect the safety of OG residents.
———b. As to parking, both governing bodies acted improperly by allowing development approvals in both towns without the required amount of parking spaces, and both are guilty of not working together to correct the parking problems they both created.
From the Editorial Department at Blogfinger: Below is a song dedicated to those Asburians and now the OG Home Groaners who have been bombarding the Grove with mindless propaganda re: BRIDGEGATE.
The OG Home Groaners are agitating for trouble by urging Grovers to cause tension at the next Committee meeting. Blogfinger officially awards them the SCREAMING MIMI AWARD for 2019.
KEVIN KLINE from the soundtrack of DeLovely:
Jack. In general you are correct about showing up, but this phony issue isn’t worth turning out for. I voted YES on the Blogfinger poll and if I have anything else to say to the Mayor, I can mail it in or say it here without leaving my house.
There is no indication that she will pay attention to what the citizens want. After all, she seemingly has ignored the 247 voters who weighed in on the BF poll. If she can ignore those 247 and ignore the conversations on Blogfinger, then why would she care about the person who shows up to experience 3 hours of boredom in exchange for 5 minutes speaking to her without a response?
Dites Moi,
I agree, but would suggest that OG residents show up at the meeting.
‘The world is run by people that show up’.
If the Groaners want to be useful they should conduct a thoughtful analysis of the situation and then come to a solution to share with the public. Instead they are just being rabble rousers.
And the Mayor is conducting “talks.” Is this top secret, like negotiations with the North Koreans? Is her new way of communicating to give information to the Coaster instead of telling us what she is doing and thinking. She could have an email list of citizens who like to know what is going on. Or she could make a speech/press release and then our own sources can deliver the news: Blogfinger, HOA.
Or the Mother Ship or HOA could conduct its own poll of Grovers. Why subject our citizens to 3 hours of boring Committee meeting followed by 5 minutes to express their opinions, only to be ignored.
This issue doesn’t deserve the attention it is getting. Let’s not go out of our way to satisfy a handful of Asburians with an empty cause?
We already know how over 200 Grovers feel about it. (BF poll) And we know how the Neptune Police Dept. and Blogfinger feel about it. Shouldn’t the Groaners and the Mayor be consulting those sources?
Blogfinger received over 1200 hits on July 15 and July 16 each. The most popular topic was Bridgegate. No comments supported opening the gates, and our poll showed that 91% of voters favored keeping the gates closed during the night. Can you hear that Mayor?
Some of the fake news-makers from the A. Park side have suggested that a law suit might be brought over the Bridgegate muddle.
But exactly what might be the legal basis of such a suit? And exactly what would the damages be? And who would be the defendant?—and who would be the plaintiff?
And who would bring such a suit? Would it be the City Of Asbury Park? They couldn’t be that stupid. Maybe the poor waitresses might give a portion of their tips to hire lawyers.
91% of those who voted in the Blogfinger poll do not want the locks to be eliminated. So does the A. Park Council really want to do battle over this?
