Gibberish from the Home Groaners: State of confusion…….

June 15, 2018 by Blogfinger

This email from the OGHOA arrived today:   Please read it thoroughly in order to avoid confusion

The June meeting of the Ocean Grove Home Owners Association will be held on Saturday, June 23 at 10:00 a.m., at the Community Room on Pilgrim Pathway.

Our guest speaker will be Deputy Chief Larry Fisher of the Neptune Township Police Department.
The deputy chief position is new to the Neptune Police Department, and is one of several changes implemented by the Township as part of the Township’s continuing effort to make the police be the best thatn the way the department operatfeatured speakers are Diana Harris and Jenny Shaffer.  Diana is the President of the Midtown Urban Renaissance Corporation (“MURC”); Jenny is an architectural historian and a member of the Neptune Township Historic Preservation Commission.  Jenny and Diana will talk about the history of the Midtown area of Neptune as a destination for African American tourism, and how that history informs redevelopment plans for Midtown, and will take questions from the audience.
The meeting is open to all, so please share this notice with those of your friends and and neighbors who may not be on our e-mail list.
We look forward to seeing everyone on May 26.
Barbara Burns,  President
Editor’s note:  Soon after this sillyism was sent out to the HOA mailing list, someone actually read it and informed the communication department, and a corrected version was sent out. So now everyone can learn why the regular Neptune Police Chief needs someone looking over his shoulder.

Joe: You are out of touch on this. There was a shakeup in the Neptune Police Department in 2017.

First the Police Director (civilian) Michael Bascom was replaced by a 3 person Police Committee. Their goal was to improve oversight by the Township. That Committee consisted of an outsider police captain from Newark plus Neptune Committeemen Brantley and Williams.

They went on to appoint Neptune Police Captain Larry Fisher to the new position of Acting Deputy Chief in December 2017. He will answer to Chief James Hunt. Fisher will be the guest at the OGHOA meeting coming up.

If any of you are interested in more, go to the next HOA meeting.
