2 years ago Fizz was one of 276 dogs rescued from a house in Howell where a case of “extreme hoarding” had been discovered. According to his adoptive owner Nina K. of Ocean Grove, Fizz was “traumatized” by that event but he has been making a great deal of progress since then.
But Fizz vanished from his OG home on Super Bowl Sunday. A vast network of Fizz Finders developed on social networking and then, finally, someone found him in Asbury Park near Memorial Drive.
This time, about 4 days ago, he slipped out of his collar and disappeared again. His flyer picture showed up in various locations including Blogfinger, NextDoor, and on telephone poles in town. But the Fizz Finders failed to locate Fizz, and the internet network began to widen.
However, two mornings ago, Nina heard a scratching at her door at 5 am. She found Fizz had amazingly returned and had done considerable damage to the door as he tried to get in. Nina says that “it looked like a bear had tried to enter.” When she let him in, he went straight for his bed and fell asleep.
We caught up with the little fella walking with Nina and her beagle Maizy in Firemen’s Park. Meanwhile, Fizz may be the most famous, and the most happy, fella in Monmouth County.
DEAN MARTIN: “There’s nowhere else on Earth that I’d rather be…”
Do you think that a witch kidnapped Fizz? After all, a witch did say, “I’ll get you, my pretty, and your little dog, too!”
Judy Garland may have put it best: “There’s no place like home.”
