This live performance was recorded in Hamburg, Germany in 1995, with musicians from the US, Sweden, England and Italy. Ken Peplowski’s clarinet is light as a feather and just wonderful. It’s one of my favorite recordings. Howard Alden the guitarist is also in the group and also from the NY-NJ area. The lovely vibraphone performance is by Lars Estrand.
The song, one of the most beautiful love songs, was written by two of the greats: Jerome Kern (music) and Oscar Hammerstein II (lyrics.)
I think the photo booth that “took” Eileen’s picture was in Coney Island.
