Bubbles in Ocean Grove:
—Valet parking?? At the Township Committee meeting on March 12, 2018, the Committee and the OGHOA brought up the possibility of valet parking to help alleviate parking congestion in the Grove. This may be the dumbest parking suggestion ever, but we will hold off until we hear more details. Remember that State Land Use Law will not allow moving cars ( a private business) onto public streets.
–NJ license plate seen on the Garden State Parkway: “Mr If” The car was driven by a woman—-evidently a tribute to gender ambiguity.
–The CMA has announced a major event for Bridgefest. there will be a concert of Christian music on Saturday June 23rd. In the Great Auditorium. It will be covered by 6 radio stations. This is the sort of event that will bring thousands of people into town.
–If you are looking to read the minutes of Township Committee meetings, the last set which was posted on their web site was January 22, 2018.
—-The new water pipes around town are steel and lined with cement. The old pipes were leaching. This project should improve water quality.

Did it ever occur to the OGCMA that eventually even its own visitors won’t find places to park due to AP visitors using those spots to avoid paying parking fees in AP?
SURFER. Driver-less cars are coming and that might reduce the number of cars in the Grove.
Meanwhile, the dilemma of a fixed number of spaces available for an ever increasing number of cars means a worsening situation without reducing the number of cars, especially during mega-gridlock events.
Maybe I can just get a plug in hybrid, put in the charger outlet and use it 9 months out of the year and use just the gasoline motor during the summer. It would be better for the environment using 100% electric though!
As the world progresses into Electric Vehicles, OG will be forced kicking and screaming into the 21st century, only took till 1980 to get into the 20th, so I’m not holding my breath!
We got Trouble, right here in Ocean Grove, with a capital T and that rhymes with P and that stands for Parking!
What if this nasty virus spreads? Can you imagine 5 years from now – dozens of spots all over town reserved for electric vehicles! OGCMA will surely consider this “unwelcoming” to visitors!
Doug. All I know is that there is an electric AC/DC box attached to his house in the alley. Then there is an underground connection to the plug-in at the curb, so he will charge his car at the curb.
For the Electric Car, Is the charger actually at the curb or in a driveway? I would love an electric or plug in hybrid vehicle, BUT, I would need a specific parking spot to charge it!
