Micanopy #4: Southern comfort.

January 8, 2018 by Blogfinger

Micanopy, Florida. Paul Goldfinger © December, 2017.

The Seminoles lived here.  The chief Micanopy ran a trading post in the early 19th century.  Some freed blacks lived among them. Then white developers changed things and started this town.

But soon the Seminole wars caused havoc and destruction.  Eventually it became a trading post for tourists to buy antiques.  Will this town ever become something more than its history and its present ?  When we were there, we saw no children.
