Ocean Grove is great walking town. It is only about 1/2 square mile, but it has some unique neighborhoods. Here are two favorite walks of mine:
—-Start on Asbury Avenue at its western end, near Asbury Park and then head east, through the mountain range and wind up in Founder’s Park. Walking along Asbury Avenue and checking out those little mountain streets seems like a New England Village.
—Walk along Lake Avenue either east to west or visa versa. Those lakeside houses sit up on grassy knolls and seem very majestic. But the architecture varies, and you might pass Captain Midnight or you might slip across the bridge into A. Park.
Other destinations off Lake Avenue include the Windmill in AP for an amazing hot dog with mustard, sauerkraut, and first class fries. Or you could wind up at the Boardwalk—OG’s North End which still is open, lively, and a few steps from the beach.

JANET KLEIN AND HER PARLOR BOYS:
I definitely agree with you on Lake Avenue (there’s a lovely house with raised garden beds containing the largest vegetables you’ve ever seen). I also enjoy walking the Fourth of July parade route with the Ladies Auxiliary (Stockton to Main to Central to the Pathway to Ocean).
My favorite though is my almost daily walk from our house, onto Mt. Pisgah or Mt. Zion past the Auditorium and to the beach via Ocean Pathway. It never gets old!
