The annual Labor Day public meeting was held at the Tabernacle.  President Dale Whilden said that the CMA would expand its horizons by partnering with Christian colleges, media and large churches such as the Liquid Church that brought 4,000 people to the Great Auditorium in June.

J.P. Gradone announced the retirement of Shelley Belusar as Program Director and Vicki Bacolo as headquarters receptionist.

Dr. Whilden also mentioned the North End Redevelopment plan, and we are going to respond to that announcement later today.

Oldtimer: There are some mysteries which are not discussed. For example why is the CMA planning to sell such valuable real estate? And why to they want to back out of being one of the two redevelopers? And what is the real reason for wanting to cut the density in half? That is big bucks that they will forego.

Is it just me, or doer the OGCMA seem like it is becomming more and more invisible? They seem to be in total stealth mode. They put in a few appearances here and there and then dissapear without really saying anything.

It use to be that they were on the leading edge of most things that happened in town. They were clearly present. They showed leadership. OG was better for it.

    OGCMA — what happened?

Ditto what IM Radar stated. It’s not a town meeting. It’s one big Atta Boy presentation. There is an open mike at the very end, but since most trustees don’t even bother attending, its hard to believe the OGCMA takes any comments or suggestions seriously from its constituents.

Thanks for the tip. Calling it erroneously a “town meeting” is quite opposite of its controlled agenda and time allocations. But let’s hope a few critical issues arise such as North End development, inordinate condo ground rentals, boardwalk reconstruction ,and more.
