In case you aren’t sure, there is a sign there showing you where Bradley Beach and Ocean Grove are located.  The fence remains, but it doesn’t end at the water’s edge, so it appears to be symbolic.  There are no guards.  We  understand that BB put up the fence.   In the absence of more information, it looks un-neighborly at most and mostly dumb at best.

This morning, on the BB side were two surfers; on the OG side was one fisherman.

An absolutely useless fence. Reminds me of the Frost poem “Mending Wall” —

“He will not go behind his father’s saying,
And he likes having thought of it so well
He says again, ‘Good fences make good neighbours.'”

The fence is illogical for Bradley Beach to have erected. It’s the same ($8) to buy a daily pass and more ($80 vs. $70) for a season pass in OG. Thus, economics do not justify it. The South side of Bradley Beach’s beach is never crowded. So its not a space thing. Sunday morning no one can enter OG beaches. So what’s the motivation?
