Summer Tents: Time to Vacate

September 18, 2012 by Blogfinger

Sunday, September 16–the deadline date for vacating the tents. Almost all were empty, looking forlorn as they await the take-apart crew.

Frank: You are right. I like to photograph over there in winter. Those tent areas have wonderful shadows and colors in various kinds of light, and at night, walking around there reveals another world—shadows, twinkling lights, porches, soft sounds, etc. Did you see our nighttime tent area photos when we did the nocturnal OG slide show?

The closing up of the tent homes is such a unique Ocean Grove ritual. It is kind of bittersweet. Kind of melancholy. Yet at the same time kind of romantic too. By the way, even in the winter time I think they are quite beautiful.
