Once, when I was living in Dallas, there was a guy who lived in the city’s richest, fanciest, snobbiest neighborhood. This guy was into environmental issues, and he decided to let his very large lawn revert to the original grassland prairie that had existed before there were human settlements. This he did mainly by just letting everything grow and grow.
His neighbors filed a lawsuit about it; I never heard how it turned out.
