Thank you. It is one of my favorites. And you are correct about too many S’s. I sometimes stutter when I write. I also decided to make the A a small a. We have to preserve not only our old buildings, but also the proper spelling of things around town.
OK–Don’t look: how many b’s and how many t’s in Abot Ave ? (intentionally misspelled so as not to tip off the answer.) If you are not sure, you can Google it.
Sal: It was 2006. This alley together with the tiny restaurant and coffee bar always struck me as different from any other place in OG. It reminded me of a little painting I have of Pirates Alley in New Orleans. It has the feel of that or, perhaps, Europe. But the scene down that alley was full of life, with locals stopping in to shmooz, have coffee and maybe an egg sandwich.
This photo must be a few years old, as this little coffee shop now has another name. It dates back to when Kevin owned this coffee shop and also the newstand around the corner on Main. If I recall, the coffee shop was named after his daughter Krisanna. Kevin was a really great guy. This photo brings back fond memories. Great photo too.
