To the Editor:
Our “unique look” is disappearing slowly but surely. And we all see it. We’re blind if we don’t. Our status as “a shining light on the hill” is becoming a farce. The CMA doesn’t have the backbone that it once did.
The Neptune people in government aren’t helping our founding fathers’ goal or mission at all.
And we are “a welcoming place” to whom? Certainly not the locals. The New Yorkers are grabbing up every piece of real estate available with no concern of our history. They’re here for investment purposes only.
They have no intention of making Ocean Grove a better place to live and experience.

Ken, I’m going to agree with you on several points. Both Neptune and CMA are not doing much to keep OG a welcoming, year-round town. But I take great offense at your swipe about the “New Yorkers”, If you want to point fingers at those who have not respected the unique “look” of OG, try pointing at the local NJ developers who have gutted the North side of town and erected condos and unimaginative faux Victorian homes. And at Neptune and CMA for encouraging them.
Most of my new neighbors are actually from North Jersey and I honestly have not noticed an increase in resident cars with NY plates. Please direct your frustrations locally, not across the river.
