The $1.50 Costco hot dog–1/4 pound, all beef at $1.50 and a 20 oz soda included. They sell 100 million each year.

Some things never change, and this is still a useful post. Recently the NY Times wrote about the seductive $1.50 hot dogs at Costco.   They are the best, and the company purposefully keeps the price low. It helps them retain customers, and some go there just for the hot dogs. It is hard to resist, even for those with the best will power. The company has been selling these at this price since 1985.  Hebrew National used to make the Costco dogs, but now the Kirkland plant in California produces 285 million hot dogs each year
