Although we do focus on Ocean Grove, we also write about other subjects including music, photography, food, life styles, and medicine. You might be bored by certain topics that get Grovers excited, like head-on parking, which is not a reference to the Kama Sutra, but we try to keep our promise to be eclectic in our subject matter.
All comments and emails are subject to editing, but mostly that has to do with punctuation, clarity, etc. We do reserve the right not to publish objectionable and inaccurate material. So please be nice.

Hi Frank. I do have photos after Sandy, but they are mostly about damage at the beach front and at the Great Auditorium There wasn’t much to show at the North End, but I will look through our archives. Would any other Sandy photos help?—-Paul at Blogfinger.net. Please send me your email to my email. Blogfinger@verizon.net
Hi Paul, This is Frank on Spray Ave. We had spoken during the years. I am putting together some photos for the Neptune meeting. I was wondering if you had any pictures showing the devastation after Sandy on the N. End. Thank you Frank
Lee and Art. What a nice surprise. Thank you, but this is not the place to get personal. Please email me your contact information. Paul. Blogfinger@verizon.net

Steven Clark Goad here. I was in LaBoheme with Ron at IU. I would love to hear him sing Nessun Dorma. Hope to find it on the net. Fond memories of him with Marion Cawood in that Pucinni classic.
Harriet I am told that there is a Hallmark movie which is very good called “mistletoe and menorahs.”
I have not seen it but you could look for it. Paul
I have been searching for a Hanukkah film without any luck.
Is anyone aware of any? There are a few cute animated ones for children, not much though.
Happy Hanukkah
There are some neat color pics of O.G. in its glory from the ’50’s on the site linked below. Paul thought you,d enjoy… its a FB site called “You know you’re from Ocean Grove, NJ”

Ever go to the Hot Bagel Bakery in Oakhurst, Paul? I’m told its Kosher?
I myself think these are the best and worth the drive….. They are on Monmouth Road (go through Asbury into Interlachen) and travel on Monmouth Rd to West Park Ave (at the corner on the right).
Or go to 35 north and turn right onto West Park . They are at the corner of West Park and Monmouth Road–in a strip mall on the left.
Editor’s note: At the Hot Bagel Bakery there often is a line, and when there is, they refuse to take the time to toast. I think that is outrageous, especially since their product is best toasted.
But the wait is very short, because they have a ton of kids working the counter, and they all have amazing memories.
Currently I still go back to the Hot Bagel place once in a while, but their bagels, in my opinion, are too fat, too under-baked, and I often cut out the middle (surgery—it couldn’t hurt!)
But toasted, they are still the best and very delicious. And the lines attest to their popularity. They also have superb muffins–a wide variety, still warm, as are the bagels. And yes, the Orthodox who go there validate that the HBB is indeed Kosher.
We have written about the Hot Bagel Bakery in the past, and you can type in their name into the search box at the upper right hand corner of BF.
There is a new bagel shop in Ocean Grove on Main Avenue. You can send us your review via email (Blogfinger@verizon.net)

Are you aware that the newly crowned Miss New Jersey, Jade Glab, has ties to Ocean Grove? She is the young woman who has sung “O Holy Night” at the Live nativity in the Auditorium. She is a beautiful, talented, and most important, nice young woman.
Editor’s note: Do you know her? I’d love to photograph her in the Grove. P..
FYI, heard through the Neptune Township grapevine that Bernie Haney is considering an additional tax assessment on OG homeowners with curb cuts.
Thank you Paul for printing George Held’s poem….a very solemn cry for the evil that is around the world…and now hatred has appeared in the United States in a synagogue filled with people worshiping there Yahweh. Baruch Dayan ha’emet. Tom Thaller’s wife, Nancy Lee Schwartz Thaller
I am delighted to find this site and the Cookman Avenue post in particular. My maiden name is Cookman and I am directly related to Alfred Cookman and have his picture hanging in my home. Thank you for this information. I did not have all of it.
Love this site!
