NOTE: The reason that local election campaigns do not mention political party is that NJ law requires “non partisan” local elections.

Grovers: Aren’t you sick of having taxation with no representation?
During the parking forum, I was photographing we-the-people exercising our free speech.”Mayor What’s-His-Name” (Keith Cafferty. ) demanded that I, a member of the American free press, “Sit down!” And there are other complaints such as his crude and unethical behavior at a recent Committee meeting. His performance has been criticized by many Neptuners.
You may recall that our mayor is not directly elected by we-the people. A different Committeeman rotates into the job each year among the 5 Committee-persons.
As I drove out of town this morning I saw a sign that urged Democrats to vote for Rachael Stolte. When I returned, the sign was gone, but I found another in front of my neighbor’s house. Hopefully this message will be heard.
Party and identity politics (gender and skin color) must be set aside for local elections. Single party rule by any party is not functional for a small town like ours.
There is one seat on the Neptune Township Committee open. Mayor What’s -His-Name is wanting to be re-elected.
There is a young woman wanting to break in to the Neptune Township Committee. She is Rachael Stolte. Let’s give her a chance.
Ocean Grove should certainly vote for change, but will the rest of Neptune?
Too bad we don’t have an OG representative, but at least we can let Rachael get on the Committee if for no other reason than to have an independent voice who could toss monkey wrenches at the one-party-rule crumb- buns.
Blogfinger does not take party-line sides in politics, but this is an emergency. And, by the way, Asbury Park has an all female city council.
