Matthew was out for a Mother’s Day walk in Firemen’s Park with Mom Margo. There is a large cherry tree there which kids always gravitate to because they can climb the strong lower branches.
But today, a chilly Sunday, Matthew found a special sort of fun: The cherry blossoms created a blanket of pink, and this energetic boy just couldn’t resist, as if it were a pink snowfall, picking up the petals by the handfuls and tossing them into the air.
At one point he and Mom had a springtime flower fight, playfully throwing pink balls at each other, but the breezes just carried them away leaving Mom and Matthew with a good laugh.
Ironically it was in the 40’s this morning, so a snowfall was not totally out of the question.
