—-Bagel baker to Paul:  Inquiring about the holidays:    When is Bagel Day?

—-Me:  What?

—-Baker:  You know, the day when the Jewish customers eat lots of bagels

—-Me.  You must mean the “break the fast after sundown on Yom Kippur.”

—-Baker: Yes, that’s it.

—-Me:  It’s mostly dairy foods like bagels, lox (smoked salmon), salads, whitefish, cream cheese, and other special foods.
