MaryLou is an artist whose work painting Ocean Grove cats is well known to us. Some call her the “Cat Lady.” You can plug her name into our search box above right.
So, we were surprised when MaryLou sent us this pastel of a dog named “Moe.” She completed this work in 2020. We have a photographer on Blogfinger named Moe, and I had an uncle Moe. And there was a show years ago called “5 Guys Named Moe.” And then there was a haircut: the Moe Hawk.
We enjoy posting the work of OG artists.
Thank you MaryLou for this work which captures the spirit of Moe.

HARRY NILSSON “The Puppy Song.” From the album Harry.
There are a few cats who visit our backyard to enjoy hunting among the birds and pond fish. One in particular is white and black, and we know his family on Mt. Tabor. He loves to prowl around and hide in various places. But it’s funny how cats can run free while dogs must be with a walker.
My question is: “Are cats more human than dogs?”
It is a complicated question since dogs may be more intelligent, but dogs are also more dangerous. On the other hand some cats can cut up a dog. Yet dogs are not as solitary and are more social with people. But my asthma keeps me far away from cats. We watch “Jack” from our kitchen window.
We love the portrait of Moe and all the cats too.
