TO THE EDITOR:
My name is Gorton Wood and I am a member of OGHOA.
Why did the Camp Meeting Association decide to store all the beach lockers in the beautiful park where the Founding Father’s statue resides?
What is wrong with the dirt parking lot at South Beach which is not used all winter?
Gotta love the Camp Meeting Association !

“I’d rather dream than have that lonely feeling stealing through the night
Each little moment is clear before me, and though it brings me regret
It’s easy to remember but so hard to forget.”
It’s a fact that the grass will be destroyed under these lockers….
More money , more time and energy restoring it.
Plus they detract from the beauty of the area. Where is the HISTORICAL SOCIETY?t. This was not a good decision.
MTL! …MTL….MTL! (Move the Lockers!)
The lockers look terrible here. There must be a reason the CMA put them here but aesthetically it is awful.
Gorton Wood,
From day one the HOA has supported the North End Redevelopment Plan without a vote of the membership.
They also took credit for reducing the density (number of units) in half, when in fact that never happened. The Planning Board approved the full density of 160 units without a word from the HOA.
The CMA then sold the North End lot where the lockers had been stored to the OGNED developers.
The South End sand parking lot may be reserved for future developments.
The reason for not using south end lot is that during heavy storms with high tides that lot can be under water. That flooding can literally float the lockers into the lake or onto the streets. That’s not the case with Firemen’s Park
Looks terrible. Stupid move. How ugly. I guess they don’t revere their property as much as we do. There are plenty of other places to store them.
Especially considering, besides the intrusion of its appearance, is the fact that when they are removed for the next season, the grass beneath each storage unit will have turned brown and create bare spots that will have to be groomed and restored…..as stated above, they could have stored on a sandy lot.
Hopefully this can be resolved.
Stupid and ugly
