Some of you may recall Rear Window, Alfred Hitchcock’s award-winning mystery thriller from 1954. The film starred Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly.
Jimmy is stuck in his apartment nursing a broken leg and he observes neighbors who live in apartments seen through his rear window. He thinks he has witnessed a murder.
Lee Morgan of Ocean Grove has sent us a photo taken in the Grove which shows a view through a large window and he is reminded of the Hitchcock film.
He says, “In the not so distant past, Grovers and visitors could perch here to experience their own real-life version of the famed movie set.”
So if you are reminded of something that you want to share, please comment below.

I’m sure most people would assume that LM are my initials (Lee Morgan) who took the photo and initiated the piece. You went to great lengths to explain my role in your contribution.
No mystery here!
LM: A lovely essay, but why in the world won’t you sign your name?

My memories are closely connected to the season of the year.
Summer, of course, brings everyone out of hibernation and the masses descending into the Grove. Sitting on a stool, with book in hand, was an exercise in futility as folks would pass by the window on their way to the beach, and no matter how hard I tried to concentrate on my reading, I found myself drawn to the never ending parade of passers by.
Across the street is the local hardware store with their outdoor displays including beach toys and rental bicycles. It was entertaining to experience visitors transacting a rental and cycling away in anticipation of what their day would bring. And, the children would manage to get their parents to buy pails and shovels to build whatever their imagination would dictate. These are but a few memories that I have.
